Treasure Alert!

(January 2020) No one told us this would happen, but we suppose it's common to find hidden treasures when remodeling a home. It was during the first few days of deconstruction that we were told a small box was found in a cavity behind the living room wall. Once opened, it revealed eight Kodak slide containers, but we couldn't make out the slides within until we'd found a viewer.

Speculation ensued: "it's the other woman!" one person declared, countered with "what if it's the other man!" but once we'd secured a slide viewer, any hopes of a juicy revelation disappeared—these were just vacation slides of Hawaii and Germany from the late 1980s. Not one person in any shot, so it was impossible to have our neighbors who knew the original owners (the White family) identify anyone.

But the mystery remains: why hide a box of slides that have nothing untoward in them?
