Here Comes the Fun!

If you are reading this, it means that after nearly 23 years of marriage, we have not only gotten half way through the build phase of our Happy Boolo Project, but we have survived creating a website together. This is Amy writing by the way. So as I might characterize our website efforts as having many fits and starts over many months until my iterative and driving approach and Mike’s spontaneous, creative working in bursts found a harmonious union in our first-ever online platform. Woohoo!! We haven’t clobbered each other, but rather have a new appreciation for how we work differently.

We will use our blogs to chronicle the build journey of our Happy Boolo Project as we transform our 1964 split-level home to be the first LEED certified home in our town of Arlington Heights and one of the few LEED Platinum renovated homes in the Chicagoland area. Guided by our three-pillared philosophy of Community, Functionality and Sustainability, we will share key milestones starting back when the renovation kicked off all the way up until completion and move-in, as well as post deeper dive articles on various related topics. When we move back in we look forward to chronicling how it is to live in our highly functional and sustainable dwelling.

As we are new to all this, and really appreciate knowing what people most want to learn from our project, we thank you in advance for any input and feedback you provide to us on the Connect With Us page of our website. We also appreciate your patience as we get up to speed on how to blog in the most engaging way and experiment with different media - written posts, mini-podcasts, video, loads of pics!
