Foodie Challenge: Seven Days of Seafood
Celebrating our 2nd yummy food post. Woohoo!
During the pandemic, many people have passed the time away from friends and have found a creative outlet in the kitchen. Given how Mike and I are two big foodies, it’s already easy for us to spend loads of time in the kitchen. So to give that an extra boost of fun, we experimented with a few challenges. One of our early challenges in late March-early April was Seven Days of Seafood. Each unique seafood dish had to start with an “s” sound, as for whatever reason, I love alliteration.
It was fun to create, plate, and capture a quick video and pictures of each of these meals in our rental home’s kitchen. Some were dishes we make all the time, and others—such as the red snapper and swordfish steak—were totally new creations for us. It was probably during these foodie challenges we realized that when we did finally launch our website and blog, we would have to also have to include pure food stories and recipes.
The pandemic has been and is tough on so many levels for everyone, but staying home consistently in our kitchen has solidified our passion for creating meals together and inspired us to get an early start on our Happy Boolo Kitchen endeavors. Looking forward to seeing where the foodie side of the blog takes us!
Below you will find a picture of each seafood dish and videos providing more background on each meal.
Please forgive any amateur food videography and cheesy commentary! ;)
Mike kicked off the challenge with non-Euclidean goofiness!
In future blog posts, we will feature the recipes for some of these dishes. Stay tuned for our go-to salmon caesar salad in the next couple weeks — a sure hit for either indoor or outdoor dining in the warm days of late summer!
Bon appetit!
