Tearing Down the House

December 2019…After the move, the party, separate open houses for those who could not make the party, a mini-kickoff with some of the initial contractors, we said goodbye to the original 631 and celebrated that we were about to take down the house to the original studs. To be sustainable we would reuse as much of the structure as possible, build up versus out to avoid disturbing the topsoil we wanted to preserve for more vegetable and fruit production on our future Happy Boolo garden and use a process called deconstruction versus traditional demo. On January 13th, we celebrated this moment between the old house and the new house with a toast in plastic cups.

When you are about to take down your walls, you must toast!
We reflect on what we are most excited about in the project.
